The Hypocrisy And Double Standards of The Islamaphobia-phobics

First of all, I want to preface this by saying I believe that everyone has the fundamental right to worship as they please, but your way, is not the only way. There are many paths to God, and as long as we all do our best to be harmless and good, we will all eventually reach the top of that mountain wherein sits the throne of God. And even though I believe that organized religion has been the root cause of most of the world’s troubles, throughout the centuries, I will defend your right to practice whatever religion you choose. However, as a defender of freedom of speech, I also reserve the right to criticize any religion I deem worthy of criticism, which brings me to the following:

Islamophobia... a word that has been bantered about in recent years. What exactly does Islamaphobia mean? In its literal sense it means- fear (phobia) of Islam (the religion). And given the propensity towards violence- all the multitude of suicide bombings throughout the world over the past decades (too numerous to mention) not only targeting westerners but other Muslims-no wonder many fear Islam.

However, the term Islamaphobia has taken on a different connotation, and is now considered a form of racism, which in itself is ludicrous considering Muslims are not a race, they are a religious group. And what I find most interesting is the breathtaking hypocrisy of those who denounce people who criticize their religion as Islamaphobic. Those self-same critics are the first to vilify and hurl nasty epithets at adherents of other religious groups.

They feel free to call Jews pigs and apes, and Jesus the slave of Allah, and yet no-one categorizes them as Christianophobics or Judeophobics. The Hypocrisy And Double Standards of The Islamaphobia-phobics

It’s your typical double standards- I can criticize you, but God forbid you criticize me. Well, I have as much right to criticize certain aspects of the Islamic religion as I do certain aspects of the Judeo-Christian, Hindu or Buddhist religion, if I choose to, without being called a racist or hate-monger, or inciting some fatwa or other.

No religion is perfect, including Islam, and most deserve criticism in some form or another, so I will continue to criticize where I see fit. This does not mean I am a racist or anti this or that, nor does it mean I am calling for the death of all the followers of that particular religion. It simply means I do not agree with certain doctrines within your religion, which is firmly within my rights.

Peace out.

No religion is above humanity. No religion preaches the killing of innocent. The problem is that every religion is open to interpretation.Extremists misinterpret their religion and justify their crimes in the name of God.Islamaphobia is the phobia of those who practice Islam. However Islam as religion doesnt approve or direct violence against non muslims. In order to prove the superiority of Islam a few fanatics try to prove other religions as inferior. It doesnt have any logic to it.

Hello Shivangi, I agree most religions are open to intepretation, however, there are many passages in the Q’Ran that encourage the killing of infidels, and this is why, to this day, they misintepret the real meaning of jihad and blow themselves up, along with hundreds of innocents, instead. And it’s not just extremists, unless you consider Palestinians extremists. Most are so willing to sacrifice themselves and their children for jihad.

Right on!!!

not only do Muslim extremists (only a fraction of Muslims as a whole, thank god) call for the butchering and slaying of those who do not see things their way, they DO butcher and slay them if they get the chance to do so, then they suddenly become falsely and hypocritically surprised to be labelled extremists!!!

This also brings to mind the revolting fatwas taken out against writers who don’t agree with them (notably Rushdie) and cartoonists (the famous allah-bomb episode) and the violent state-controlled demonstrations and attacks on Embassies in the countries they come from.

These people are racist, xenophobic, violent, intolerant and intolerable.

”Jesus is the slave of Rome”. What filth and racism (slavery!!! oh how WONDERFUL!!) in the name of allah.

”Islam will conquer Rome”. Oh, are we being attacked, here in the West? Ok, then we’ll DEFEND OURSELVES!

These disgusting insults, coming from those professing to defend a peaceful religion like Islam, are doing the opposite of what they seek to do, ie; be respected. It’s time moderate Muslims stood up and denounced them as strongly as possible.

These people display all the nombrilist-the-world-turns-around-me paranoias of infant psycopaths. It’s ok for them to dish it out, but when people get in their faces for it, they become the poor innocent little victims.

Snif? No way. I may be dumb, but not THAT dumb....

Thanks for this post Incognito. Instablogs needs people like you to denounce these barbaric obscurantists who are being supported, sad to say, by a certain category of its contributors.

Yo!!

Hey Michael C,

I think there are far more ”extremists” than any us would like to admit, whether out of fear or p.c.ness.

And it’s not just writers, anyone who is critical is condemned, that’s probably why moderates, if they even exist, are too afraid to condemn.

You are right.

As I wrote on a recent post, two days ago the top ten on IB had four racist articles in it.

Disgusting.

I recently decided however, even if I cannot fight on all fronts at once, that I am going to fight this filth head on on Instablogs.

Moreover I shall write tomorrow to talk about it with the site’s administrators.

I don’t know if you know this, but Editors here (of which I am one) can get into any post they like and do what they like with it.

I have done that very little up to now.

But if this phenomena continues, I shall do what I think is right.

Why should moderates fight with one arm tied behind their backs?

I never have, and I never will, give up the struggle against racism and violence.

Count on it......

Erratum :

”Jesus is the slave of Allah” I meant to say, and not ”...the slave of Rome”. Oops, sorry everyone!!

Hi Busby SEO,

I understand why you say that, and I wish it were possible, but, in my humble opinion,

These people will NOT stop hating, that’s why we call them EXTREMISTS. They are fanatical and it’s no use hoping, or praying, that they will change.

In this real, hard, cynical and cruel world, these Extremists need to be taken on at their own game.

Yip, that means using every legal and peaceful and diplomatic means to combat their filth and hatred.

And/But, if it doesn’t work, and the shit hits the fan, it also means getting in there and doing something about it.

(Oh, and please, if anyone writes to this comment to say that ”violence never gets anyone anywhere” or ”that’s playing into their hands”, please note I won’t enter into that).

And I won’t enter into that quite simply because these Extremists COUNT ON that attitude in order not to be challenged head on.

Pray for peace? Sure.

But I’d rather have a big and deterrent army with no battles to fight than a small and puny army under seige.

Thanks and respect to all peaceful people.

Busby SEO, the sad truth is that hatred is inculcated into the minds of their children from a very young age. They are bombarded daily from school to the cartoons they watch on TV. I have seen some of those cartoons and they are horrible. Hatred is taught, and until they can love their children more than they do the idea of victimization, they will continue to teach their children to hate, and the cycle goes on.

Michael, sadly peaceful, diplomatic and legal doesn’t work. They are too blinded by their hatred.
