There’s nothing like religious zealots willing to sacrifice themselves and their kids for their religion. One particular mum, 41-year-old Moroccan Houria Chahed Chentouf, had 6 potential human bombs, ranging from 4 to 16, that she was considering sacrificing, according to an article in the U.K.’s Daily Mail online.
By chance, Chentouf was caught at John Lennon Airport in Liverpool on October 16, 2008 trying to smuggle into England a memory flash drive containing 7,000 files that could be considered a virtual terrorists delight.
It was described by police as ‘a mini encyclopedia of weapons making’ and included an explosives manual for the ‘Brothers of the Mujahadeen’, an ‘encyclopedia of Jihad’ and instructions for setting up a terror training camp. There was advice on how make bombs ‘maim and kill as many as possible’.
And where was this USB flash drive hidden? Attached to the inner sleeve of her Burqa. Had the drive not fallen onto the floor when she bent over to scratch her leg, after she was detained at the airport, she would never have been caught. Anti-terrorist officials also found a hand written note that demonstrated her willingness to use her kids as suicide bombers.
They also discovered information on various computers and laptops at her home in the U.K. and The Hague (where she also has Dutch citizenship), that revealed chatroom conversations with militants interested in jihad. The also found the phone numbers of radical Brit Anjem Choudary’s mentor Omar Bakri Mohammed.‘Myself and my children would seek revenge, we would be bombs for the sake of this religion, may Allah forgive you.’
In spite of all the evidence and
being charged under the Terrorism Act 2000 with possessing an article which gave rise to suspicions that “the possession was for a purpose connected with the commission, preparation or instigation of an act of terrorism”.
she was sentenced to only 2 years in jail, and walked out a free woman having served her time on remand. Why? Because the Judge (Michael Henshell) believed she was not going to follow through on her obsession with jihad,
“The Crown accept there was no intention of putting it into practical use.”
or passing it on to others.
Apparently the defense claimed she was mentally ill, so therefore the court deemed her harmless. I would think that someone who was mentally ill would be even more dangerous. If truly considered mentally ill, she should at least have been committed to some hospital for major therapy, rather than being set free. Mental illness plus religious extremism equals a ticking time bomb. Now Britain has another extremist roaming the streets of England. God help them.

It’s sad that it has come to this, because we shouldn’t dictate what people wear, but definitely they should be banned. There have been many instances of terrorists escaping hidden under burqas and suicide bombers hiding their bombs under burqas.
